Our cars are enjoying sheltering in the garage away from the cold and icy roads. Time passes quickly however and we are looking forward to warmer days and our first weddings of 2015.
Some venues are particularly notable due to the aesthetics of the final route to the Hall etc. Our first wedding this year will be at the local favourite of Coombe Abbey near to Coventry.
COOMBE ABBEY HOTEL - As we turn off the road into Coombe Abbey we usually drop the hood (weather permitting) and enjoy a slow drive down to the Abbey in the distance. Visitors are required to turn off into the car park but as befits the most important visitors of the day we are able to drive over the moat and into the wonderful courtyard.
Coombe Abbey attracts couples from Leicester, Coventry, Leamington, Warwick, Nuneaton and Rugby plus many of the smaller towns and villages around.

ROTHLEY COURT HOTEL - Even in mid-winter some couples like the hood lowered on the Beauford. This was one of those very still days with bright sunlight - we travelled the few yards down the driveway to the Hotel in the open, very slowly!. The couple loved it!
Apart from the lovely sweeping entrance to Rothley Court we are often able to approach via the lanes of the Charnwood Forest from various marriage venues. Leicester, Loughborough, Coalville, Hinckley etc are amongst the towns we travel travel from to the Hotel.
DUNCHURCH PARK HOTEL - A lovely peaceful approach via Vicarage Lane. The driveway winds around the Hotel, opening up to the Hotel and a most wonderful vista over the countryside beyond.
It is a very popular reception venue being close to Rugby and easily accessible from many areas of Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Coventry and beyond.
KILWORTH HOUSE - A most wonderful approach to the Hotel via a long winding driveway, greatly enjoyed by couples, especially if we are able to lower the hood. The staff are usually very well organised and provide a warm welcome to the couple as we pull up by the porch entrance.
We often pick up bridal parties from the Hotel for ceremonies in local churches - North Kilworth, Husbands Bosworth, Market Harborough etc. For Brides travelling from Leicester the drive along the Welford Road is a pleasant route, usually relatively traffic free.
STONELEIGH ABBEY HOTEL - This Hotel never fails to impress. On entering the drive we travel through lovely parkland via an impressive old bridge over the river Avon. We then have the privilege of being able to drive past the frontage of the Abbey via the banks of the Avon to the Orangerie beyond. We have made quite a few visits to the Abbey in recent years and still get excited when we take bookings to the venue.
The nearby Chesford Grange Hotel is often used as the pick up location for the Bridal party. Leamington, Warwick, Kenilworth, Coventry and Rugby are all nearby towns which Brides often depart from for marriage at the Hotel.
HOTHORPE HALL - A windy early season wedding at Hothorpe Hall. The Hall is not far from Market Harborough, approached from Theddingworth down a very quiet lane. Given a fine day we usually lower the hood for a gentle drive to the Hall via a cattle grid and a few sheep in the field (lovely to see lambs in the spring).
What makes our arrival at Hothorpe even better is by taking a lane off the Welford Road through the small village of Mowsley. The couple of miles down to Hothorpe is well worth the detour as we drop down from hills which are not normally apparent, to the village of Theddingworth and then to Hothorpe Hall.
AND FINALLY... I have now realised that most venues have individual attractive attributes and I could become boring by adding 100 more. So I will stop!
Worth just giving a mention to: Bosworth Hall, Sketchley Grange, Ansty Hall, The Royal Court Coventry, Wethele Manor Leamington, The Mythe Barn Atherstone, Brownsover Hall, Catthorpe Manor, Ullesthorpe Court, Quorn Country Hotel, Quorn Grange, Beaumanor Hall, Walton Hall, Igon Manor, Royal Arms Sutton Cheney, etc.
